Chelmsine [also written Chelmsyne] is rather difficult to locate. The accompanying maps may be of some assistance. The geographical coordinates are 50°57'33.86"N 3°9'20.85"W.

Below is an aerial photo of Chelmsine. JLK's chapel is on the SE corner of the "T" intersection. The graves are the area to the south of the building, and are now on a separate land title to allow development of the chapel (it has been converted into a house).![]()

The larger activity to the right of the "O" is Chelmsine Farm.

The map at left (click on it to enlarge - 363 KB) is taken from the Somerset Map of 1881 (the year Alfred Kraushaar, the author's great-grandfather, emigrated to Australia). A comparison with the aerial view above shows how little the field pattern has changed in the last 120-odd years. A PDF version of the 1881 map (287 KB) may be more suitable for printing.
In the "little graveyard" are still to be seen the tombs of:
- "John Leach [sic] Kraushaar who entered into rest April 4 1900 aged 80"
- "Little Douglas" [Sumption], grandson of the above, died June 20 1899
- "Little Olive" [Sumption], granddaughter, passed away Oct 2, 1901 [These were the first two children of "Tricie".]
- "Frances Jane Kraushaar, his wife, who entered into rest April 21, 1902 aged 80 years"
- Frances Emily Geyden-Roberts, 1875-1964, 89 years, and Adela Geyden-Roberts, her mother, 80 years.
