By 1886, all of the author's direct forebears were already living in Australia. Three of four grandparents were born in the new country; the fourth arrived from northern Ireland at the age of two.

This site is dedicated to the pioneering families of James Watson Rosier who arrived in Australia in 1850; of the Rev. Kerr Johnston, who arrived in 1853; and of Thomas Allen, who migrated in 1886.
